Raebareli: Attacking Congress President Rahul Gandhi over his nomination from Kerala's Wayanad, Union Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday said that the former was devoid of any true support today.

Irani said Rahul 'backstabbed' the Left

Speaking to reporters at Raibareli, Irani said, "Who has Rahul truly supported till today? The 'mahagathbandhan' deserted him, Mamata does not give him any importance. He even back-stabbed the Left today, with whom he has enjoyed being in power. Nobody is with Rahul today."

Earlier in the day, Irani had hit out at Gandhi in his Parliamentary constituency Amethi, saying that it was a coincidence that 'didi'came there and the 'missing MP' reached Kerala.

Terming herself 'didi' (elder sister), Irani told a gathering in Parsadepur, "This is a coincidence, an indication of God that 'didi' arrived here and the missing MP reached Kerala. I have come to take people's blessings and he (Rahul) rejected the blessings."

This was her first visit to Amethi after the Lok Sabha elections were announced last month.
