Prayagraj: Mahant Narendra Giri, in his thirteen-page suicide note, has named three of his disciples - Anand Giri, Ada Prasad Tiwari, and Sandeep Tiwari. The letter demands actions against the said trio.
Narendra in his letter further stated that Anand Giri would be maligning his image while releasing some tempered video clips of him along with girls. He had requested the police and administration officials for action against these three people.
According to the note, the mahant has originally dated it on September 13. On more than one page, the date has been revised to September 20.
'I Mahant Giri, tried to commit suicide on 13 September but couldn't dare. When I received information from Haridwar today (20 September) that Anand Giri would make my pic along with a girl viral to malign my image. I have decided to end my life because the post I am holding is a very reputed post," Narendra Giri note stated.
"I have been living under mental pressure ever since Anand Giri made fabricated allegations against my character on social media platforms. I have not given a single penny to my home as alleged. I am going to die," Giri's note further added.
The note further stated that Mahant has requested Harigovind Giri to sworn in Balveer Giri as the next Mahant after him. He also requested Balveer Giri to put his all efforts to maintain the Math's reputation and cooperate with all the Mahants along with the followers of Ashutosh Giri.
Earlier, a petition seeking CBI investigation into the death of Mahant Narendra Giri was tabled before Allahabad High Court. The petition stated that the circumstances under which Mahant was found dead are very suspicious. The petition has been filed by Sunil Kumar alias Sunil Chaudhary, Advocate and Social Activist of Allahabad High Court.
BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has demanded an NIA probe into the death of Mahant Narendra Giri who has allegedly committed suicide on Monday.
Mahant Narendra Giri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, had resorted to the extreme step at his Baghambri Math ashram on Monday. Meanwhile, a charge of abetment to suicide has been lodged against Anand Giri and two others in the First Information Report (FIR) under Section 306.
Mahant Narendra Giri has also requested to make his mausoleum under a lemon tree in the garden of Baghambri Gaddi.
