Lucknow: An FIR has been registered against the sister-in-law of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari for illegally constructing a building on the government land, official sources said.
Farhat Ansari was booked after a government official filed a complaint against her and an unknown person in Hazratganj police station here, they said.
The government accountant, who keeps records of such properties named her and said the building was constructed illegally as the land does not belong to her.
It was found out that she got her house constructed on a piece of land, measuring 1.309 hectares, which belonged to the state government.
The government can demolish the property, worth crores of rupees, any time, the sources said, adding that the authorities concerned have asked for a detailed report over the issue.
