Bahraich (Uttar Pradesh): An elderly woman was injured after miscreants fired at her in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district on Sunday.
The incident took place at Lodhan Purva village under the Huzoorpur police station limits when the woman was sitting outside her house.
The victim's daughter Poonam said that a few days earlier, the accused, who are from the same village, had forcibly taken away her vehicle, following which her mother recovered the vehicle with the help of the police.
Later on Sunday, Poonam said that the accused came to their house and shot at her mother, who was sitting outside.
The victim was rushed to the district hospital, and her condition is currently said to be stable, police said.
In a written complaint filed at the Huzurpoor police station, the victim's daughter accused fellow village resident Sanjay and others of attempt to murder.
Based on the complaint, the police filed an FIR against four persons, Kaiserganj circle officer (CO) Arun Chandra informed.
Teams have been formed to nab the accused, the CO added.
