Hyderabad: BSP supremo Mayawati has claimed that Brahmins will not vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the next assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Mayawati said that from July 23, the Bahujan Samaj Party will launch a campaign from Ayodhya to connect with Brahmin community. The campaign will be led by BSP's National General Secretary Satish Chandra Mishra. She gave this piece of information on Sunday and said that through this campaign, she wants to send a message to the Brahmins that their interests are taken care of in the BSP Raj.

The monsoon session of Parliament is going to start on Monday. Before the parliament session, BSP supremo Mayawati talked about her strategy. She targeted the central government on inflation, rising prices of petrol, diesel, and gas along with the shortcomings in Covid vaccination. She has appealed to all the opposition parties to unite on these issues so that the government can be held accountable.

It is believed that the political upheaval in UP is certain after the BSP's trying to earn Brahmin votes. Mayawati has been the CM of Uttar Pradesh four times so far. For her fourth term, she won an absolute majority thanks to his successful social engineering. In 2007, she got 206 seats in the 403-seat assembly. At that time, her key man was Satish Chandra Mishra.

Dalits constitute 20 per cent of the population of UP, while the Jatav community has 12 per cent of the population. Mayawati has made it clear that she will bet on Brahmin candidates in the upcoming assembly elections by announcing 'Brahmin Jodo Abhiyan' on Sunday. Apart from Satish Chandra Mishra, the party has faces like Ramveer Upadhyay, who have a better grip on the politics of western UP.

Meanwhile, during the cabinet expansion, PM Narendra Modi gave prominence to OBC and Dalit faces. He included only one Brahmin face from UP in the Union Cabinet. Political analysts believe that in such a situation, the BSP's campaign will give a new option to the Brahmins to vote. Since the BSP has exercised Brahmin leadership at the local level, it will not face any problem in finding strong candidates.
