Man sent to jail for blackmailing couples

An IPS officer gets an FIR registered against a gang of people, who would make videos of couples sitting in parks and blackmail them on the basis of the same. One of the members, was held and sent to jail.

Kanpur Dehat: A man, part of a gang of anti-social elements, who would make videos of couples sitting in the parks and blackmail them on the basis of the same, has been sent to jail after Amitabh Thakur, an IPS officer, filed a complaint against them.

Other members of the gang, including the one whose name was mentioned in the complaint, are being searched for, Circle Officer Ramsharana said.

He said orders have been issued to arrest other people who may be involved in the illegal practice.

Further probe and action are on in the case, the police official added.
