Bareilly: A case has been registered in Baradari police station against Khalid alias Saqib, a young man who threatened Danish Khan, theatre artist, not to play the role of Ram in Ram Leela. The case was registered against accused Khalid in Baradari police station following the orders of Additional Director General Zone Avinash Chandra.
Danish had lodged a written complaint with Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh Sujwan on September 27. After the SSP's probe, it was reported that there was no case of opposition to Ram's role in Ram Leela, but an attempt was being made to give another colour to the dispute. As Danish was not satisfied with the investigation, he lodged a complaint with the ADG Zone.
Danish Khan has been playing the role of Ram in Ram Leela on different stages for the last decade. He has been donning the role of Ram in Rang Vinayak Mandal on a yearly basis.
