Shamli: Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested a man, who was allegedly involved in making illegal arms in Kandhla town of the district, and recovered a number of firearms from his possession.

A man, involved in manufacturing of illegal firearms, has been arrested from Kandhla town of Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh. Police have also recovered a number of illegal country-made firearms from his possession.

Police said they raided sugarcane fields of Kandhla town after getting a tip-off that illegal firearms were being manufactured there.One Kallu, who was making the firearms, was arrested red-handed, and a 12 bore gun, seven country-made pistols of 315 bore, 15 pistols that were yet to be manufactured fully, four live cartridges and a number of equipment, including hammer, screwdrivers, were recovered from him.
Superintendent of Police, Shamli, Vineet Jaiswal told ETV Bharat here that a case, under relevant section of the law has been registered and further probe is on.
