Kashi temple-Gyanvapi mosque case hearing postponed

On September 18, a civil revision had been filed by Sunni Central Waqf Board Lucknow, which had to be filed within three months.

Varanasi: The Kashi temple-Gyanvapi mosque revision petition which was scheduled to be heard on Saturday has been postponed to October 6.

The District Judge reserved the verdict after hearing the application of Section 5 Limitation regarding the Kashi temple-Gyanvapi mosque.

The District Judge was supposed to give an order Saturday, but he went on leave and the new hearing has been fixed for October 6.

On September 18, a civil revision had been filed by Sunni Central Waqf Board Lucknow, which had to be filed within three months.

Therefore, the court recorded it as a miscellaneous suit and had given the date of Monday, 28 September to object to the temple side (opposition party) and provide an opportunity for a hearing.

On 28 September, the Sunni Waqf Board filed a Vakalatnama and a Vigilance without Power of Attorney, which was opposed by the advocates of Kashi temple.

The District Judge had heard the application of the section 5 limitation imposed at the time of filing which delayed revision and reserved the verdict on 3 October, while on the other side the Sunni Waqf Board demanded that this case cannot be heard in the lower court.

For this reason, the case had to be transferred to Lucknow Court, which has reserved the order due to late filing.
