A 38-year-old assistant professor of Jamia Millia Islamia University seeking an ICU bed for herself on Twitter succumbed to death due to Covid-19.

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh): A 38-year-old assistant professor of Jamia Millia Islamia University, seeking an ICU bed for herself on Twitter, succumbed to death due to Covid-19.

According to the sources, Dr. Nabila Sadiq, a Ph.D. scholar from JNU had been suffering from Covid-19 for the past several days, which had left her depressed.

Ten days before Nabila's death, her mother had also died of Covid-related complications. Her father was also hospitalized for Covid but was eventually discharged and is under self-isolation.

Nabila was seeking an ICU bed for herself on Twitter, among her last tweets, on May 2, was: “At this rate, no one will stay alive in Delhi at least.”

Laraib Neyazi, an MA student from Jamia said, "When I found out about Nabila's health, I rushed to her house along with some other friends. We started searching for a bed for her, we found one at Al-Shifa Hospital in Okhla, where she was already admitted in the initial days of infection, but her condition did not improve and she was shifted to Fortis Hospital in Faridabad."

"Meanwhile, we rushed her mother to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital but she passed away. We didn’t tell Nabila because she was critical", he added.

Now, no one is left in Nabila's family except her father, and a brother, who lives in America.
