Azamgarh (Uttar Pradesh) : Through Operation Kaveri, the Government of India is bringing Indians safely back home from the war-torn areas of Sudan. Many youths of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh have already been brought back from Sudan. While thanking PM Modi and CM Yogi, these returnees recounted the horrors of war there. The youth told that there is a scene of looting and fear everywhere in the war-torn Sudan.
The Indians had even given up hope of survival, but the Government of India brought them out safely. Ajit Patel, a resident of Aspur Ghanghra Latghat of Jiyanpur in the district, said that he had gone to work at Omega Steel Company on May 23 this year. Anil Yadav of Patila Gauspur of Bilariaganj, and Manjeet Yadav of Mubarakpur were with him. He said that it was heart-wrenching to see the horrors of the civil war in Sudan.
Ajit said that he did not sleep for many days due to fear and just worried about the house. Their hopes revived when the Indian Navy ship arrived. Ajit's mother Chandrakala Devi, wife Hoshila and other family members thanked the government.
Ambareesh Verma, a resident of Manduri under the Kaptanganj police station area, had gone to Sudan 15 months ago in October to earn. He told that due to the civil war, the situation in Sudan had become very bad for the last 15 days. Didn't get enough sleep for a week. Bombs could fall anywhere. Our earnings were looted right there. Had we been stuck for a few more days, we would have died of hunger, he said.

The Indian Embassy sent Verma to Jeddah from Port Sudan with the help of the Navy, Army and Air Force. From there he was brought to Delhi by aeroplane. After providing them with food and rest at UP Bhavan, the Yogi government made arrangements to send them home and provide food on the way. For this, he thanked the government.
Pankaj Yadav, a resident of Maharajganj, had gone to Sudan a few months ago to earn. The situation worsened due to the civil war going on there for over two weeks. He said that the days spent there were very frightening, but due to the initiative of the government, the safe return to the homeland and the care taken so intimately here took away all the fear.
Manjeet of Moinabad in Mubarakpur said that he had gone to Sudan on 21 September to work in a steel plant. Fighting has broken out between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces. The conditions there are very bad. Brought to Sudan Port on 23rd April with the cooperation of Sudan Government and Indian Embassy. There he was accommodated in a school outside the port for one night. From there, on 25 April, he was brought to Saudi by an Indian Navy ship. After this, the next day on April 26, he was brought to Delhi from Jidda Airport. From there, they were taken home from Varanasi. All the arrangements were done by the government.
Anil Yadav, a resident of Patila Gauspur village of Bilariaganj, said that they lost money and valuables due to the conflict in Sudan. He said they had lost all hope of returning alive from Sudan. Everyone was scared. We had nothing except a pair of dresses and a passport. He thanked the Government of India for evacuating him from Sudan.
