Gorakhpur: Govardhan Math Puri Peeth, Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati on Friday said that not declaring India as a Hindu nation till now is a disgrace on the part of political parties. Shankaracharya made the statement while speaking to the media in Gorakhpur during his two-day visit to the city.

Giving a reference to the current situation across the nation Swami further stated that in the next three to four years India will be declared a Hindu nation.

Meanwhile, he also appealed to the media for support and said, "if the fourth pillar of the democracy finds reason in India becoming a Hindu nation, then it should support us. Your cooperation and sense of responsibility will be a value addition. This is the real strength of our country and need of the hour too,"

"There is no dearth of politicians in the country. But they are not even familiar with the definition of politics. This is the irony of our nation. The entry of women, men or saints of any religion into the temples cannot be considered unjust as long as they do not go against the religious and social beliefs of the holy places. This also implies on me," Swami said.

He also said that a person detached from religion and lacks sense of patriotism can neither get happiness for himself nor can give anything to society.

He further said when a person in power, starts throwing his weight around, then various kinds of problems arise. This applies in every field whether it is politics, media or religious places. He does not support this line of thinking, he added.
