Baghpat (Uttar Pradesh): Expressing concern over BJP leader Sanjay Khokhar's killing and deteriorating law and order situation in the district, party MP Satyapal Singh on Wednesday said that all anti-social elements and criminals in the area must be put behind bars without any further delay.
"I have been raising the issue of illegal weapons and the criminals roaming free for the past two years. Every village in the district would have at least 30 people having illegal weapons," he told ETV Bharat here. It should be checked and contained, he said.
The former Mumbai Police chief, who was also a minister in the previous National Democratic Alliance government, said that he has discussed the matter with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also and he has assured him of action against such people.

"Criminals, irrespective of their political party affiliations, should be arrested and put behind bars," he demanded.
Days ago, the state police had arrested a man from the sugarcane fields of Kandhla town of adjoining Shamli district for making and supplying illegal weapons.
Khokhar (52), former district unit president of the BJP, was shot dead on Tuesday morning when he was out for a morning walk.
Adityanath had condoled Khokhar's death and directed officials to take action against the guilty within 24 hours.
