Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh): After giving an "ultimatum" to all businessmen to boycott Chinese products, activists of the Vishwa Hindu Sena on Tuesday defaced the symbol of a dragon at a Chinese restaurant in Varanasi.
According to reports, the Hindu outfit had given an "ultimatum" to all businessmen in the city to take all Chinese products off the shelves within 48 hours.
Posters calling for the same were pasted outside shops and other establishments.
As the 48-hour-period ended today, activists from the outfit smeared black paint on the symbol of a dragon at a Chinese restaurant in the city's Ravindrapuri area.
The founder of the Vishwa Hindu Sena, Arun Pathak, defended the actions of his activists, saying that the evil intentions of China must be opposed.
"Yes, we had given an ultimatum to boycott Chinese products. Our jawans were martyred because of China. They barged into our territory. They keep trying to intrude in our territory and create problems like in 1962, 1967, and then in Doklam," said Pathak.
"Now they have spread coronavirus and have endangered the lives of crores of people across the globe. We must boycott all evil intentions of China - be it Chinese people, products, or ideology," he added.
