Panipat (Haryana): Anuj Nehra who hails from Panipat city of Haryana has topped the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) exam 2018. The PCS results were declared by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Friday.
Speaking with ETV Bharat, Anuj said it is her perseverance and sheer hard work that materialised after years. "I was a science graduate, I didn't have profound knowledge of the arts subject when I started my preparation. However, I really worked hard on myself to make a difference," she said.
Anuj further added that she appeared for her examination in the year 2018, and that was her first attempt of UPPSC. "I was actually preparing for UPSC, the syllabus however is the same, though one has to study a lot about Uttar Pradesh in UPPSC. I was more than happy to know the results as I wasn't expecting to get a first rank," Anuj said.

Expressing her gratitude to her family she said that they stood as the pillar of her strength throughout her journey. "There were many times when I used to get worried after seeing my friends, some were pursuing their jobs, some others who were civil service aspirants changed their dreams and started following their passion and everyone was doing well in life. This was that point when I would contemplate about myself and my career but my family always encouraged me despite every obstacle and failures."
Revealing the mantra of success she said, "Hard work and perseverance are the only key factors to achieving goals."
