Aligarh: A girl reportedly committed suicide on Thursday, a few days after she was allegedly raped by a man near the Harduaganj police station area, Uttar Pradesh. At the time of the incident, the girl was at a nearby farm to fetch fodder for the cattle.
Police reached the spot after being informed about the incident. The accused is absconding at the moment. The police registered a case and initiated a search operation to nab the accused, who fled from the spot, after the incident.

The victim's brother, a resident of the Harduaganj police station area, alleged that this incident took place last Tuesday, when a young boy, Ganesh, dragged his sister to a cornfield and allegedly raped her. The brother of the deceased has filed a case against the accused.
"My sister did not tell this incident to me and my family members. She did not eat anything since last Tuesday. On being asked about why she is not eating anything, she narrated the whole incident to us," the brother of the deceased said.
He further said, after reporting the whole incident to the family, the victim locked herself inside her bedroom and committed suicide by hanging herself from a scarf.

The police registered a case against the accused, under IPC Sections 376 and 306. Further investigation into the matter has been initiated.
