Ghaziabad: Amid the increasing number of coronavirus cases in Ghaziabad, two employees of Chief Medical Officer's office have found to be COVID-19 positive.
Following which, the office of Chief Medical Office (CMO) has been sealed for 48 hours, as a precautionary measure.
The new development has left the health department in shambles, which has been working at the forefront to battle the disease.
"All the employees of the office were being tested for COVID-19, out of which two tested positive," said CMO, Narendra Kumar Gupta.
The tally of coronavirus cases in the city has reached to 797 cases of which 328 are active cases.
As of now, 429 COVID-19 patients in Ghaziabad have fully recovered and discharged from the hospital. In addition to this, 40 people have succumbed to the infection in the district.
Meanwhile, India's tally of COVID-19 cases nears 4 lakh with highest single-day spike of 14,516 cases reported on Saturday. Uttar Pradesh has reported 15,785 confirmed cases and 5,659 fatalities.
