Kanpur: Amidst all the uproar over the death of the Unnao rape victim, another gang-rape victim committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on Saturday.
The incident took place in Kanpur's Dehat district where the woman allegedly hung herself in her sister's house killing herself as she was upset over the accused not being arrested.
A suicide note was also discovered from the site.
According to police, the girl went on missing on 11 November. The family filed a missing report and she was found by police on November 13.
Allegedly, the girl said that she was kidnapped and gang-raped by a man named Sunny, his uncles Lala and Rinku.
The girl on returning home narrated the ordeal to her parents, who tried to get an FIR registered.
The accused were arrested by police under Section 164 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on December 2 and was later released on bail.
Due to the constant threat from the accused Sunny and his family to withdraw the case and unhappy with the negligence of the police, the victim committed suicide.
According to sources, the gangrape victim, allegedly following the threats by the accused, had gone to live with her sister and she hung herself in her sister's house.
The cops have claimed that two of the three accused have been arrested.
