Four more test COVID positive with new strain in Meerut

On December 14, a family returned from London in Sant Vihar Colony of Meerut. The new strain of corona was first confirmed in a 2-year-old girl of the family. After this, the new strain of Corona was also found in the child's parents and two relatives.

Meerut: With four more women testing positive for COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut with the new UK-strain, the total toll has reached nine in the area.

According to the information, all the women are residents of Balwant Enclave in the metropolis where the new strain was first confirmed in a family, including the girl who has returned from Britain. It is being told that all these women came in contact with the family who returned from Britain.

After the increase in the number of patients, the concern of the district administration has increased, while the health department has sprung into action.

Balwant Enclave has been sealed and positive patients have been admitted to the special ward and started treatment.

The Health Department identified the people who came in contact with the family and sent samples of everyone to the labs in Delhi.

The test report from the Delhi Lab on Friday evening confirmed the corona among 4 new women. After which the Health Department has sealed the Balwant Enclave in a hurry.

CMO Dr Akhilesh Mohan said that along with the entire family samples from people who came in their contact, their samples had been sent to the CSIR lab in New Delhi for genome sequencing. Where strain-2 was confirmed in a two-year-old girl. When the report came of the rest of the people, the new strain was confirmed in 4 people, including a couple who returned from London.
