Mirzapur (Uttar Pradesh): Citing harassment by eve-teasers, a 15-year-old minor girl committed suicide at Nivadia village in Lalganj police limits in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur by setting herself on fire.
The accused individual's identity is yet to be ascertained.
The family members of the deceased have alleged that a youngster from the neighbourhood used to humiliate her daily.
According to sources, the deceased was allegedly driven towards taking the extreme step due to constant harassment by the accused youth.
The eve-teaser used to allegedly harass the girl by passing lewd comments, reports said.
After returning home on Tuesday, the minor victim poured kerosene on her and set herself on fire. Although she was rushed to a government hospital in Mirzapur, she later succumbed to burn injuries.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case.
