ETV Bharat reaches hotspot area of Lucknow, takes stock of situation amid lockdown

ETV Bharat visited Kasai Bada, one of the hotspots of Lucknow, for a ground report on the measures taken by the Uttar Pradesh government and administration during the lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus disease.

Lucknow: Police have stepped up vigil and barricades have been erected at COVID-19 hotspots in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow as the city has been sealed to check the spread of the deadly virus.

ETV Bharat reporter visited Kasai Bada, one of the hotspots of Lucknow, for a ground report on the measures taken by the government to curb the spread of the infection.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, a police officer said, "Police teams are carrying out patrolling in these localities to ensure that nobody ventures out of their homes. The Alijan Mosque is located in this area, in which there were 12 Corona positive Jamaatis. As many as 15 more people got infected due to contact with these persons. Now, 27 Corona positive cases have emerged from this region alone."

"Only basic minimum supply of essential commodities will be maintained in these localities. A team of doctors is always present here for treatment," said, Khem Pal Singh, A.D.M. (CITY EAST).

According to reports, there are a total of 13 hotspot areas in the city including Kasai Bada which have been sealed.

The district administration is ensuring that the people in these areas have access to essential services. The municipal team is also frequently sanitising the area. Apart from the efforts put in by the state government, a team from the Centre is also monitoring these areas.

Notably, the Uttar Pradesh government had on Wednesday decided to completely seal off coronavirus hotspots in 15 districts to stop the spread of the infection, announcing curfew-like restrictions there.
