Pilibhit (Uttar Pradesh): As many as fifteen people have been booked for allegedly abducting, beating up and robbing the nephew of Barkhera BJP legislator Kishan Lal Rajpoot in Pilibhit today.
It is said that BJP MLA's nephew Rishabh was brutally beaten up and looted by the divisional magistrate's (DM) gunner and his friends.
The accused has been identified as Mohit Gujar, DM's gunner.
The assailants also allegedly attempted to drown him in a lake.
Reportedly, BJP MLA's nephew went to the market to buy vegetables at Pilibhit Mandi Samiti at around 8:30 at night when the kidnappers asked for money. When he refused, the group beat him up and robbed him. Later, he was kidnapped in the car.
A police team reached the spot and arrested the gunner while his accomplices managed to flee.
Manoj Kumar Sonkar, superintendent of police confirmed that Mohit Gujar is a constable of UP police and a security guard to the DM.
Police have registered a case against four of the accused while the investigation against 11 is underway.
