Lucknow: The 11th edition of the DefExpo, a flagship biennial event of the Ministry of Defence which was started on 5 Feb will conclude on Saturday evening.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh along with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath will preside the valedictory session.
However, the DefExpo 2020 will remain open for the general public from today till tomorrow afternoon.
Over 105 city buses will also provide free travel to the general public so that they do not have any problem in reaching the venue of the Defence Expo.
These buses will get people from 13 points of the city. Apart from this, people will also be able to reach the Defence Expo venue by catching e-buses from Charbagh, Alambagh and Polytechnic.
At the Defence Expo, the general public will be able to enjoy the live demo in which fighter jet Sukhoi cargo Globemaster Surya Kiran's aerobatic team helicopter Mi-17 Tejas Jaguar Rudra Roop Chinook and Donier will perform tricks in the air. Along with several other events will also take place.
This year's Defence Expo has emerged as one of the largest gatherings of defence exhibitors and delegates, particularly in the aerospace sector. The growth of indigenous enterprise has been the most encouraging facet of DefExpo2020.
Over 200 partnerships involving the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs), Transfer of Technology and Product launches were concluded on the third day of DefExpo yesterday.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath said these MoUs envisage Rs 50,000 crores investment in the defence corridor set up in the state and generate 3 lakh job opportunities.
He assured that investments coming to the state were secure and the state investment policy was the most attractive in the country. He also announced that HAL would soon supply Dornier 19-seater civilian aircraft to UP.
Dr Ajay Kumar, Defence Secretary said that this DefExpo would be remembered for many firsts – including for the signing of the largest number of MoUs, ToTs and product launches. Bandhan ceremony witnessed more than 13 product launches, 124 MoUs between DPSUs, private and global defence manufacturing companies. 23 MoUs were signed between the UP government and private companies.
