Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh police have received a WhatsApp message on its helpline number threatening to kill chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Acting on a tip-off, police launched a manhunt and nabbed a class 12th student whose mobile number was used to send the message.
According to reports, the sender has accused CM Adityanath of the delaying arrest of history-sheeter Vikas Dubey and the message was received by social media cell of Uttar Pradesh Police's integrated emergency response centre UP112 on Tuesday afternoon.
The UP police immediately took cognizance of the situation. The police have filed an FIR against the Juvenile and the 12th class student was produced before the Juvenile Court. The investigation is underway. Police have also seized the mobile phone from the student's possession, reports added.
Reportedly, on May 21, the Uttar Pradesh police also received a threat message against CM Yogi Adityanath "with a bomb".
