Unnao (Uttar Pradesh): Family of Head Constable Shashikant Tiwari of CRPF's 231st battalion mourned on his death, at their residence. He lost his life in an IED blast followed by an exchange of fire with Naxals in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Monday. 5 jawans were also injured in the blast.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Chhattisgarh Police were on road security duty when the attack took place after 6 p.m. in Aranpur area. The injured men were evacuated by helicopter to a Raipur hospital.
Troops of 231 Battalion of CRPF along with the state police were carrying out the road security duty during which a blast hit them, which was followed by firing from Naxals between Kondapara and Kamal posts in which the jawans got injured, said P Sundarraj, DIG, Anti-Naxal Operations.
