CRPF jawan kills wife, 2 children before committing suicide in Prayagraj

A CRPF jawan Vinod Kumar Yadav of 224 Battalion of CRPF allegedly killed his wife and two children before committing suicide by hanging himself. The exact reason behind the act is yet to be ascertained, the police said.

New Delhi: A CRPF jawan allegedly shot dead his wife and two children before committing suicide here on Saturday, officials said.

"The CRPF personnel Vinod Kumar Yadav belonged to 224 Battalion of CRPF. On Saturday morning, Yadav first shot dead his wife Vimla, 14-year-old son Sandeep and 12-year-old daughter Simran. He then committed suicide by hanging himself," SSP Prayagraj, Satyarth Aniruddha Pankaj said.

The exact reason behind the act is yet to be ascertained, the police said.

The incident was reported from the Group Centre of the force in Prayagraj early morning.

Senior officials of the paramilitary and police have rushed to his house in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp.

Yadav is posted as a driver with the 224th battalion of the force.
