New Delhi: A team of Delhi Crime Branch Police on Thursday reached to the CFSL (Central Forensic Science Laboratory) along with the anti-CAA activist Sharjeel Imam who was arrested on Sedition charges.
After a Delhi court on Wednesday allowed the police to collect the voice sample of Imam for comparing it with that in a video clip in which he is purportedly making a hate speech against Assam.

The court directed the police to take the voice sample of Imam for examining that any kind of adulteration had done with the video or not.
Though, sources revealed that the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) scholar himself accepted that the video which got viral on social media was his own.
Still, for legal action against Imam, the crime branch police asked for a voice sample test of the accused.
However, the court had sent Imam to judicial custody on February 6.

Imam got arrested from Bihar's Jehanabad on January 28 for allegedly making inflammatory speeches during the ongoing protest in Shaheen Bagh against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).
He was slapped with a sedition case after a video of his purported speech went viral on social media where he was heard speaking about "cutting off" Assam and the northeast from the rest of India.
