Couple die by suicide in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur

A couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a tree which comes under the limits of Bilhaur police station in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on Monday. Police officials said preliminary reports suggest that it is a case of suicide.

Kanpur: Bodies of couple found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on Monday morning.

According to the reports, the couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a tree which comes under the limits of Bilhaur police station. Some locals who went to relieve themselves in the field noticed two bodies were hanging from the tree and informed the police.

When ETV Bharat tried to interact with the locals, they denied answering and added not to interfere in the matter as the matter seems related to 'love-affairs'.

Meanwhile, a police official said that preliminary reports suggest that it is a case of suicide.

"The reason for the suicide is being ascertained and inquest proceedings have been initiated. No suicide note has been found", said the police official.
