Coronavirus: Son donates money meant for father's post death rituals

Bhadohi: At a time when the country is reeling under the coronavirus crisis, people from all walks of life are leading by example to assist the fight against the deadly disease.

Son donates money meant for father's post death rituals

Rajesh Mishra, a farmer in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi district donated one lakh rupees, which he had kept aside for the post-death rituals of his father, to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund amid Coronavirus pandemic.

According to Rajesh Mishra, he invited only five people to observe the post-death ritual of his father, keeping in view the social distancing norms and conducted very basic rituals to avoid excess spend of money.

He handed over the cheque of one lakh rupees to the district magistrate as a donation to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Rajesh Mishra said that he had decided on the day his father died that he would donate Rs one lakh to the chief minister’s relief fund instead of spending the amount on the last rites of his father.

Locals have widely appreciated his decision. While donating the amount to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Mishra expressed the desire that the money should be spent on purchasing medicines, medical equipment and paraphernalia such as masks and gloves for controlling the spread of coronavirus.

The deadly Coronavirus has claimed over 199 people's lives in the country and the death toll in Uttar Pradesh has reached to four.
