Lucknow: BJP president J P Nadda on Friday held a meeting with party MPs, MLAs during his visit to Lucknow. Nadda addressed a conference of MPs and MLAs of the party on Friday and also appealed to them to consolidate the party’s position among all sections of society.
Also, with the panchayat elections nearing, Nadda instructed party members not to interfere in the selection of candidates.
Speaking on this occasion, Nadda said," Party workers should reach out to people and apprise them on BJP government’s welfare schemes to all sections of society. Party workers should ensure public welfare programmes initiated by the Centre and state government are implemented at the grassroots."
"As the party is gearing up for the upcoming panchayat elections and assembly elections next year, divisional-rung workers should visit allocated booths every month and hold meetings with booth committees and even dine with them," Nadda said.
" It is only BJP which has a democratic set-up that allows grassroots workers to rise to the top. Party leaders, activists, public representatives should have faith in the common man. Party MLAs, MPs and officials should work with party ideologies which will not affect their image and party's credibility," he said.
