Bulandshahr: A teenage girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district. Based on a complaint filed by the girl's father, police arrested the accused.
The victim’s family alleged they were being pressured by the accused's family to withdraw the case.
The victim's family said that constant efforts were being made by the accused's family to settle the case.
According to the family members, the man from another locality took the innocent teenager to a deserted place after intoxicating her with some drug substance, during the night.
The accused was caught but later freed.
The teenager's father is a carpenter. The family, comprising 5 children, lives in a one-room house. Family is struggling with financial constraints. The accused's family wants to take advantage of this.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, the victim's father said the accused's family members were mounting pressure on them to withdraw the case.
''We need justice and the family has full faith in the police and the law. We are also completely satisfied with the action taken by the police, We only want the culprit to be punished,'' said teenager's mother.
Police Officer Sikandrabad Namrata Srivastava said that the police have taken serious action in the matter and the accused has been arrested.
