Budaun: BJP MP Sanghmitra Maurya on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan over her marital status by writing a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding to revoke her membership as the Member of Parliament. In her letter to Om Birla, the BJP MP said that the matter of the marital status of Nusrat Jahan should be referred to the Ethics Committee for a detailed investigation of her illegal and ethical conduct and appropriate action must be taken against her.

In her letter to the Speaker, Maurya described Nusrat Jahan's membership of the House as 'non-est' and also attached the Lok Sabha profile of the Trinamool Congress MP where she has mentioned her husband's name as Nikhil Jain. Alleging that Nusrat Jahan deliberately provided false information in parliament, Maurya said that she cheated her electorate by giving false information and this brings a bad name to Parliament and its members.
