Ayodhya mosque logo released, symbolising multi-cultural legacy: IICF

The Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation has released the official logo for the proposed mosque in Ayodhya, around twenty days after the 'Bhoomi Pujan' ceremony of the Ram Temple. The much-awaited mosque's logo symbolises the legacy of the Indo-Islamic culture and also has a glimpse of Jewish and Christian architecture.

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh): Around 20 days after the 'Bhoomi Pujan' ceremony in Ayodhya Ram Temple, the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) has released the official logo for the proposed mosque in Ayodhya.

The foundation headed by the chairman of the Sunni Waqf Board Jufar Ahmed Farooqui has already started preparation for the construction of the mosque in the five acres land allotted by the Supreme Court at Dhannipur village, some 20 km from Ayodhya.

Athar Hussain, spokesman of IICF said, "The plan for constructing the mosque in Ayodhya has already been started. It was proposed that along with the mosque there would be a community kitchen, hospital, research centre and other such public amenities."

"The mosque's logo represents the Indo-Islamic culture, starting from the era of Badshah Akbar. It has a glimpse of the intricate design used in the tomb of Badshah Humayun," said Hussain.

According to Hussain, the logo symbolises the multi-cultural legacy of the world. "The logo manifests the Indo-Islamic culture in one hand, and in other, it features the Jewish and Christian architecture, depicting the multi-cultural legacy of the world," he said.

While asking about the using of the octogram in the logo, the IICF spokesman told, "Octogram is specifically used in the holy Quran from where we got the inspiration. Besides, you can find the importance of octogram in several religions including Jewish and Christian."

Meanwhile, Atahar Hussain said, "It was decided that 15 members would be there in IICF, among them the names of nine members including Syed Mohammed Shoeb, Imran Ahmed, Mohammed Junaid Siddiqui, Mohammed Rashid, Shaikh Saidujjaman have been announced so far."

Adnan Farooq Shah is the vice-chairman of the foundation, while Faiz Aftab is the treasurer, Hussain added.
