At 110, Jaunpur's oldest voter ready to vote in next polls

Maharani Devi, a resident of Jaunpur is considered as the oldest voter in the district and is all set to vote again in upcoming polls. Jaunpur administration has planned to provide special facilities and honour to Maharani Devi for being the oldest woman voter in the district.

Jaunpur: A 110-year-old woman, considered to be the oldest voter in UP's Jaunpur district, is all set to vote again in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Maharani Devi, a resident of Jaunpur feels proud of being a sincere voter since India's independence.

She had led the women's association during the freedom struggle and personalities like Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu among others had visited her house.

Social worker Vimala Singh, who creates awareness for voting said, "Maharani Devi is the wife of freedom fighter Rameshwar Singh. She has voted in every election since Independence and is keen to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha election."

Jaunpur administration has decided to provide special facilities to the elderly and specially-abled persons during elections. They have also planned to provide special facilities and honour Maharani Devi for being the oldest woman voter in the district.
