Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court has summoned a letter from the District Election Officer on a petition challenging the validity of the participation of Badaun BJP MP Sanghamitra Maurya in the elections. The order was given by Justice Ramesh Sinha while hearing the petitions of SP candidates Dharmendra Yadav and Dinesh Kumar.

The Allahabad High Court has ordered the list of witnesses filed by Dharmendra Yadav's advocate Narendra Kumar Pandey with the record. Advocate Uday Nandan said on behalf of Sanghamitra that she does not want to present any witness in the defence.

It has been alleged in the petition that the nomination of candidate Dinesh Kumar has been wrongly rejected. If there was an error, it should have been given a chance to correct at the time of scrutiny.
