Allahabad HC issues show-cause notice to police officer for misleading court

A show-cause notice has been issued to a police officer by the Allahabad High Court for allegedly misleading the proceeding by giving false information related to a case. The officer has been asked to submit his explanation by July 8.

Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court has issued a show-cause notice to a police officer seeking an explanation for misleading the court by giving false details of a non-existent police station in the state. The court issued a notice to Sub-Inspector Amit Kumar, Kotwali Police Station in Bijnor district, who allegedly informed the court that a case was registered against a man in Akbarabad police station. However, it was found that there is no such police station is in existence.

A bench led by Justice JJ Munir asked Kumar to submit his explanation by July 8. In this case, a special operation group of the police department has also been exposed, which harasses innocent people by implicating them in false cases.
