Aligarh: A woman who came to vote at a polling booth in Atrauli Tehsil of Aligarh gave birth to a child on Thursday. The pregnant woman suddenly went into labour and gave birth to a boy with the help of local women. Later, both the mother and the child were rushed to a nearby health centre.

Dr Sunita, in charge of Jirauli Community Center Atrauli, said that a mother-child was brought here by an Asha worker via an ambulance from Kazimabad.

The woman was stitched up and the newborn child was given medication for Hepatitis and Polio.
The woman was also given light refreshments. After which she was taken home as per his wish.
Both the woman and her newborn child are healthy. According to reports, the woman's brother-in-law is a candidate in the local body polls.
