Aligarh crime branch inspector suspended on charges of raping woman police officer

Aligarh Crime branch inspector suspended after a woman police officer reports of alleged rape and attempt to murder against the accused inspector. The woman officer also submitted the call recording of the accused.

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh): Aligarh Crime branch inspector Rakesh Yadav was suspended on Saturday after a woman police officer deployed at Aligarh police station accused him of rape and attempt to murder.

According to the FIR registered in Aligarh police station, the woman police officer had filed a complaint against her daughter's husband for torturing her daughter for dowry.

The woman police officer in her complaint said that Rakesh Yadav, who was handling the case of her daughter, asked her to meet in a hotel room to discuss about the case. When she reached the hotel room, the accused raped her and asked her not to mention his name or else her daughter's case would be mishandled.

"After which the accused Rakesh Yadav used to call me to meet in the hotel room on every alternate day. He also warned me that he would hamper my daughter's case, if I complained against him", read the victim's account in the FIR.

The woman officer then took the matter to SSP Muniraj and urged him to take action against Rakesh Yadav and also submitted the call recordings between her and the accused.

Based on the initial reports, the SSP ordered action to be taken against Yadav and he has been suspended till further orders.
