Prayagraj: Mahant Narendra Giri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Prayagraj. After getting information about his death, the police team which has reached the spot are questioning the inmates of the monastery.
According to police, Mahant has committed suicide by hanging himself from the noose in his Baghambri Math ashram. In initial investigation, police have recovered 6 pages of suicide notes from the spot.
ADGP(Additional DGP) Prashant Kumar said, "the body of Mahant Narendra Giri was found hanging from the noose in a room of Baghambari Math Ashram. Police have recovered a suicide note from the spot. According to the suicide note, he was suffering from mental trauma. Anand Giri, a disciple of Mahant Narendra Giri, has been accused of harassing him. The forensic team is investigating the incident site. Anand Giri into custody for further investigation."
"The six-page long suicide note contains the names of his disciples, whom he has asked to take care of the Math." ADGP added.
Giving clarification, Anand Giri said that, this is a big conspiracy. There was never any dispute between the Guru and the disciple.
Anand Giri said that "this is a conspiracy of those people, who were taking the money of the Math and the temple to their homes. People who don't even earn 2 thousand rupees have houses valued at 5- 10 crore rupees. My name is being deliberately included in his murder. This is a conspiracy. It may also include senior police officers and some disciples present in the monastery."
He further said "Guruji has never written a letter in life. The writing of the letter received should be checked. I am confident that Guruji cannot commit suicide. He has been murdered."
