Agra: A one-year-old boy, sustained burn injuries and died after he accidentally fell into a pot of boiling curry at his home in Agra. The accident took place when celebrations were on for his birthday on Monday.
The victim, Vansh, was the son of Vinod Kumar and had a twin sister, Vanshika. According to the police, a special puja was held in the home on the occasion of the twins' birthday. The family members had planned to hold a feast after the puja and so were busy with the preparations. Soon, guests started arriving and the family members became busy welcoming them. The cook, who was preparing the dishes, had cooked vegetable curry and kept the boiling pot aside on the floor.

Police said, Vansh was playing with his sister when he accidentally fell into the pot of boiling curry. The incident took place in Babu Pada village in Agra's Kagarol town at around 11 am. After hearing the boy's screams, his parents ran in and pulled him out from the pot. Vansh suffered severe burn injuries all over his body. He was rushed to the hospital immediately by his parents but he succumbed to his injuries.
"Most of the guests had already arrived when the incident took place. We are in shock as to how the child fell into the hot curry pot," a relative said. The incident has left his parents in grief while a pall of gloom has descended in the village. Police have registered a case in this connection.
