Saharanpur(Uttar Pradesh): Devbandi Ulema objected to reciting of Hanuman Chalisa's text inside the mosques of Baghpat and Mathura, saying that it is being done to grab votes as elections are being held in some places.
''Some people are creating a rift deliberately between Hindu-Muslims and taking advantage of it, but the people of the country are sensible and they have understood such planning, the government should also keep a close watch on such people who are trying to disrupt Hindu-Muslim unity, ''said Devbandi ulema.
''I think it is a pre-plan so that the peaceful atmosphere of the country is spoiled, especially targeting the areas where elections are going on and voting is taking place, there is a special kind of lobby, their aim is that Muslims should become Hindus by increasing the distance and spreading hatred among both the communities. India is a secular country, the people here live with a lot of brotherhood, the government should keep an eye on such groups and parties. So that the brotherhood that exists here should remain forever,'' he said.
