Rampur: Bharatiya Kisan Union national president, Rakesh Tikait on Thursday lashed out at Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra saying that a history-sheeter should not be the minister of the country. Tikait made the statement while addressing the farmers at the district office in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur on Thursday.
The farmers' leader also hit out at the UP government for the Lakhimpur Kheri clash and said that the government has been given a certain period of time to resolve the issue and arrest the culprit or a protest will be conducted.
Tikait said, "the government has been given time till Oct. 12 to arrest the accused and the resignation of Ajay Kumar Mishra. There will be agitations all over the country if the government fails in solving the issue within the given period of time. The outline of the movement will be decided on Oct. 12. The government has given compensation to five people. Among the five people who died, there were four farmers and one journalist. They will get justice only when the accused will be arrested and Union Home Minister Ajay Mishra resigns,"
"A history-sheeter should not be the Union Minister of State for Home of the country. If the government wants, we are ready for talks. We want to take the movement from conflict to solution but the government wants it other way round. This is the only difference between political parties and us. Problems can only be solved through dialogue," Tikait added.
