On Saturday, 69 workers staged a protest and alleged that they were facing starvation as the district administration was providing them food of poor quality in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya city.

Auraiya: As many as 69 workers who were kept in a guest house after they were found hiding in a goods train, moved out in protest on Saturday in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya city.

According to sources, migrant workers alleged that they were facing starvation as the district administration was providing them food of poor quality and irregularly.

They also said that they were abused if they asked for a second serving.

As soon as they were found abscounding, the district administration was informed immediately.

The police also reached the spot of their protest and tried to convince them.

On receiving the information, BJP MLA Ramesh Diwakar comforted the migrant laborers and assured them that they would not face any kind of problem.

At the same time, he also said that arrangements are underway to take them to their respective native places.
