Hardoi: In a tragic incident, a three-year-old boy who had fallen into a 20-feet deep borewell in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district succumbed to his injuries hours after he was rescued and admitted to hospital.
The incident took place when Shyamjeet, the victim, was playing with his 7-year-old brother in Satautha village under the limits of Harpalpur police station.
As soon as the villagers came to know about the incident, they quickly informed the police and fire personnel.
The rescue team rushed to the spot and launched a massive operation to rescue the child.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Sushil Kumar, a member of the rescue team, said that the team had dug a tunnel alongside the borewell to rescue the child.
