3 criminals looted copper worth lakhs in Shamili

Criminals have looted copper from a non-functional electric transformer lying in a power station in Shamili district. They were dressed in police uniform and held workers at gun point while looting the copper from there.

Shamili: Three criminals, who were dressed in police uniform looted a power station here, official sources said.

They said the incident took place in Ambehta village of Thana Bhawan area when three people, dressed as policemen, entered the power station and asked the workers present there that they had come to raid certain people in the village and started asking for a few names.

They then tied the workers and looted copper from one of the non-functional electric transformers and ran away from there.

The officials of the power station have lodged an FIR registered and said the copper looted from the transformer was worth around rupees 30 lakh.
