Kasganj: In a tragic fire mishap, a two-year-old girl died after a massive fire engulfed her house at Dhansinghpur village under Sahawar police limits in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj on Monday.
The deceased child has been identified as Monika, daughter of Sanjay Balmiki of the same village.
According to sources, the mishap took place this afternoon when the little girl was playing inside the house. The fire broke out at one house and the flames soon engulfed the rooms.
The locals on the spotting the blaze tried to rescue the little girl trapped in the house but in vain. The child died after being unable to escape from the blaze.
Fire brigade team reached the spot getting intimation from some neighbour of the family. The exact reason behind the blaze is yet to be ascertained, sources said.
Three rooms of the house were completely destroyed in the mishap while properties worth lakhs reduced to ashes, sources added.
