16-yr-old girl raped in UP

A complaint has been lodged against a man for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl at Khekhra police station, said a police officer on Saturday. The complaint was lodged by the victim's father who accused their neighbour of raping the minor for past four months and getting her pregnant.

Baghpat: A man has been booked for allegedly raping and impregnating a 16-year-old girl in a village in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Saturday.

The victim's father lodged a complaint against his neighbour and accused him of allegedly raping his daughter for the past four months and also recording the act, said Circle Officer R P Singh.

The matter came to light when the victim's family took her to a doctor due to detiorating health and found out about her pregnancy, he said, adding that the girl was three months pregnant.

The victim's father alleged that his daughter had been hiding her ordeal from them as the accused had allegedly, threatened her with dire consequences, .

The circle officer said a case was registered against the accused and efforts were underway to nab him.
