15 UP districts to be under lockdown till March 25

The UP govt has put 15 districts of the state that have reported coronavirus cases under lockdown. The lockdown would continue from March 23 to 25 after which the government would review the situation.

Lucknow: UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday announced a lockdown in 15 districts of the state that have reported coronavirus cases.

The district that are being locked down for the next three days are Lucknow, Agra, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Noida, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Prayagraj, Bareilly, Varanasi, Lakhimpur, Azamgarh, Kanpur, Meerut, Gorakhpur and Aligarh.

He said that the lockdown would continue from March 23 to 25 after which the government would review the situation.

Adityanath said intense patrolling would continue in these districts and efforts would be made to ensure smooth supply of essential commodities.

He said that the district that are being put under lockdown, would be completely sanitised during the next three days.

The Chief Minister said that that a large number of people had returned to UP from Mumbai and their families should ensure that they follow the safety protocols and self-quarantine themselves for a specific period of time.

He said that all roadways buses would remain off road and inter state connectivity would be completely snapped.

Adityanath called upon the people to follow religious activities within the confines of their homes and not collect at any place.
