Siricilla (Telangana): The life of 'Siricilla' Rajeshwari, who created beautiful poetry despite her physical challenges, will now become a part of the school curriculum in Maharashtra. Boora Rajeshwari hails from Sai Nagar in Siricilla district.
She was born with cerebral palsy which made both her hands non-functional. She studied till intermediate level. Rajeshwari got inspired to pen her thoughts after listening to famous lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja on a television program. Instead of getting disheartened about her hands, she started writing with her toes.
Rajeshwari chooses wide and varied topics for her poems. Covid-19, former President of India Pranab Mukherjee, legendary singer SP Balasubramaniam, poet Dasarathi, handloom weavers, dowry menace, rape, self-confidence, friendship, life and current affairs have all been put to splendid words in her poems.
Suddala Ashok Teja recognized her talent and published an anthology of her poems. In fact, it was he who christened her Siricilla Rajeshwari.
