Ten year old battles cancer in Telangana

A 10-year-old girl is fighting cancer in Telangana's Siddipet district. She was diagnosed after she got injured while playing at home. Unable to afford treatment for their daughter, the couple is desperately seeking financial assistance from anybody who is willing to help them.

"One day, she was playing when she fell and got injured. We rushed her to the hospital, but later the wound transformed into a tumour," said Varsha's father Kishtaiah with tears in his eyes.

Upon further diagnosis doctors confirmed that their child had Bone Cancer. Kishtaiah is a daily wage labourer while his wife Lakshmi is a labourer in a cigar factory. Within the past six months, they have spent about four lakhs for chemotherapy.

The financial instability of the family and lack of help has compounded their woes.

The tumours have spread to her hands and head resulting in loss of an eye. In the past year, the couple went to various hospitals in Warangal and Hyderabad for their daughter’s treatment.

Unable to afford treatment for their daughter, the couple is desperately seeking financial assistance from anybody who is willing to help them.

HELL ON EARTH: A 10 YEAR OLD’S BATTLE WITH CANCER

This 10-year-old child is battling between life and death due to cancer. Her family cannot bear the expensive treatment due to their poor financial conditions. They have used up every resource they had for her treatment and left with nothing now.

Kishtaiah from Siddannapeta village, Siddipet district hails from a dismally poor family. His wife Lakshmi works as a Beedi labourer while he is a daily wage worker. Their difficulties started when their daughter Varsha, studying 6th standard fell and got injured while playing. The wound on her leg quickly transformed into a tumour. Upon further diagnosis, doctors have confirmed that their child has Bone Cancer. This fatal disease is slow poisoning the girl. The tumours have spread to hands and her head resulting in loss of an eye. In the past one year, both Kistaiah and Lakshmi went to various hospitals in Warangal and Hyderabad for their daughter’s treatment. Within the past six months, they have spent about four lakhs for Chemotherapy. Despite these efforts, the tumour has resurfaced.

The family has no more money for Varsha’s treatment and already neck deep in debt. They are living in a dilapidated house due to their poverty. They are desperately seeking financial assistance from anybody who is willing to help them so that they can afford further treatment for their daughter.
